There is nudity here on account of a historical tragedy that occurred in July 1934, the Night of the Long Knives.
It has been portrayed in this old film by Luchino Visconti, titled The Damned. It's a title that fits this environment and its people perfectly.
For to have lived in the regime of Adolf Hitler as it was to have lived in the Russia of Stalin, is to have led a damned life.
They existed physically but spiritually, it was utter darkness, the hell before the hell.
But more importantly than that, this event, this horrid event, led to the spiritual damnation of a young fellow. His dad was lost forever to him on this night. He learned to depend on his hate, a hate that was sown on this night.
